National Square Dance Convention®

Harry & Pat Nelson have been married since 1957.  They have one son and three daughters that are all married and have given them ten granddaughters, five grandsons, four great granddaughters and fourteen great grandsons.

Harry worked for Oklahoma Gas and Electric and Pat worked for Atwood Farm and Home Store of Enid, Oklahoma.  Harry was transferred to Norman, Oklahoma in 1988.  Pat followed in 1989.  Harry is a retired Command Sergeant Major of the United States Army having served in the military for over thirty years.

Harry & Pat served as General Chairman of the 52nd National Square Dance Convention in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in June 2003.  There was a total attendance of 7,732 dancers from across the United States and a large contingency of dancers from overseas.

They are Past Presidents of the Oklahoma State Federation having served as President in 1974 and 1994.  They served as President of the Northwest District of the Oklahoma Federation for four years.  After their move to Norman, they served as President of the Central District of Oklahoma.  During earlier National Conventions, they were the 1978 Assistant Program Chairman and in 1989 they served as the Education Chairman.
